Southern France - the land of the sun

In our package tours, we offer the best that Anduze, its surrounding area and the department of Gard have to offer. An area in France rich in history, culture, authenticity and beautiful nature.
The program spans widely in terms of time and experiences and the excursion destinations are varied and interesting.

You will, so to speak, get France completely under your skin. We will experience the area's history, culture and nature from prehistoric times through Roman times and the Middle Ages to the present day.
All the content and practical aspects have been taken care of, so you can sit back and enjoy the package tour!

Price per person v. 2 people in a double room: DKK 10,999. 

Price per person v. 2 people in a double room with balcony: DKK 11,999. 

Price for single travelers in their own room: DKK 12,999.

The price includes

  • Flight t/r Copenhagen-Montpellier.

  • Transfer Montpellier airport to Anduze on arrival and departure by minibus.

  • 7 nights at B&B La tour de Pézène in Anduze including breakfast.

  • Half board for 7 days (either lunch or dinner depending on the daily programme).

  • All excursion destinations, entrance fee and transport there by minibus.

  • Danish-speaking local tour guide / guide.

 

The price does not include:

  • Your private travel insurance and/or cancellation insurance.

  • Possibly. transport to and from Copenhagen airport.

NB: The tour takes place with a minimum of 8 participants.

Program

Day 1: (Monday) Arrival in Montpellier at 12.50 where you will be picked up by the hosts and driven in
minibus up to Anduze (approx. 1 hour). On arrival at the house, you will receive keys to the room and a
presentation of the house and the week's program. We also offer a lighter meal which is enough
needed after the trip.

lies like a ridge behind the city. We eat dinner at a restaurant in town. 

 

Day 2: (Tuesday) After breakfast we take the small local steam locomotive (le train à vapeur) to
the town of Saint-Jean du Gard where we are going on a guided tour of the beautiful and interesting
regional museum "la maison rouge". The museum is housed in an old silk factory hall that exudes history and productivity.
We have lunch in Saint Jean du Gard at a selected restaurant. 
The return to Anduze takes place in a minibus, where we make a stop at a larger shop (Terroir
cevennes) that sell all imaginable, delicious local products. One last stop before we're back in
the town remains at the old water mill at Corbès, where an idyllic landscape scene unfolds
itself by the Gardon river. Evening and dinner on your own.

Day 3. (Wednesday) After breakfast: full-day excursion to the Pont du Gard where we will experience it
the pinnacle of Roman engineering in the form of a very well-preserved aqueduct, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. On the way back to Anduze, we make a stop at the beautiful medieval town of Uzes, where we start with a good lunch at a restaurant, and then take a tour around the atmospheric town. When we are ready, the trip goes home. Evening and dinner on your own.


Day 4 (Thursday) After breakfast: Market day in Anduze. Morning and lunch on your own.
At 14 we go on a short hike to the ruin château de Tornac (located 2 km from Anduze) and
from there the walk continues (approx. 4 km long) through beautiful cultural landscapes ending at
"Les Vignerons de Tornac". Here we get a tour of the winery and are allowed to taste some
of the locally produced products. There will be an opportunity to buy wine when you are picked up
the minibus and drove back to the hotel during the afternoon. For those who want a little something
there is also the possibility of a trip up Anduze's "other" mountain "Le Peyremal".
In the evening we go out and eat at a selected restaurant in Anduze.


Day 5 (Friday) After breakfast: full-day excursion to Nîmes where we will experience many great things
monuments from the Roman era (the amphitheatre, la maison carré, la tour magne). After the guided tour, we have lunch together at a selected restaurant, after which there is an opportunity to walk around the city on your own until the return trip. Evening and dinner on your own in Anduze.


Day 6 (Saturday) After breakfast we go to the legendary medieval town of Vezénobres, which has the fig as its local landmark. Here we are given a tour of the city by a local guide. We eat lunch together at a local restaurant. Before or after lunch, we will have time on our own to explore the "maison de la figue", which is the city's famous fig museum.
On the way back to Anduze we stop at the famous botanical garden "la Bambouseraie". Here
we spend the afternoon in beautiful and varied garden landscapes. Evening and dinner on your own in Anduze. 


Day 7 (Sunday) After breakfast, today's excursion to Ardèche starts (1 hour's drive from
Anduze). Here we first visit the world's largest reconstruction of a prehistoric cave
cave paintings dating back 36,000 years. The cave is part of a larger knowledge and
experience center that, with creativity and animations, gives the visitor an excellent experience
insight into the framework for life in the so-called Younger Palaeolithic period.
During the visit, which takes approx. 3 hours, we eat lunch at the site's terrace restaurant
with a beautiful view of the countryside.
Not far from the cave, we pass another major attraction in the Ardèche – the so-called “pont
d´arc”, which can best be described as a gigantic natural rock bridge over the Ardèche. Here
we have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful natural scenes before we return home to Anduze, where we have a closing dinner in the evening. 

Day 8. (Monday) After breakfast preparations are made for departure. We drive to  Montpellier airport where the plane is waiting for you. (flight departs 1.30 p.m.).

With luggage full of wonderful experiences, the trip to the South of France is now at the end of the road, and with the hope that the trip has provided good memories for the rest of your life.
